Lapsteel
A lap steel from scratch, an attempt to make a beautiful wooden instrument using a laser cutter to create all initial markings for cutting and shaping. The plotter files are meant to be shared to encourage re-making this original instrument in different materials.
Gatefold Horn
A personal project attempting to make a sophisticated folding horn shape from flat material. The horn was developed to fit into a 12 inch gatefold sleeve, referencing it’s musical form. Design development was done using hand cut paper and then laser cut acetate. The final horn was cut using a zund plotter cutter at different depths to differentiate cutting and score folding.
